Sunday Post

Well this week has come and gone...
I have done a lot this week, firstly, sending the letter to my father whom I've never met. I hope that the address I found is still the one he lived at, and I guess only time will tell- whether I hear something back or not- then I will try some different measures.

I also went to the doctor this past week and found out I have Bursitis and Carpal Tunnel in my right shoulder and upper arm area... I knew I have had bursitis in my rotator cuff before, so that was not a surprise. So I will be starting physical therapy and massage therapy for that tomorrow morning!

I also started making little surprises for some special ladies in my life, and so far have only been able to present one... So I won't show you the complete thing yet ;)

I took a different avenue for making my corned beef St. Patty's Day dinner... I normally just throw the thing in the crock pot with potatoes, celery and the like- which usually ends up a little too mushy, nothing to write home about! So this year a customer of mine said she was using apple juice as a marinade.... Hmmmm... So I still used my handy dandy crock pot, but first made sure to cut off all that excess fat, I browned the beef in the crock pot and then added the apple juice, but only up to the top of the beef, not fully emerging it. Oh My! Ladies! This is delicious and so freakin simple. Oh, I should also mention I still used the spice packet and I added half a sweet onion in chunky pieces, that's it! I cooked it on high for an hour maybe, then put it on low over night til I got up at 7am, then put it on the warm setting, and it was perfect for dinner time at about 6pm!

I also have to share with y'all my haircut that I've been avoiding showing anyone! Haha. Just wasn't quite feeling comfortable in my new hair, but after getting it re-cut, I'm loving it!

Happy Sunday!

Quatrefoil Love

I have had an obsession over quatrefoil and Moroccan tile design for quite some time now. If I see it in pillows, blankets, rugs, and whatever else, I swoon...
This mirror I discovered quite some time ago (years) at one of those local hardware franchises. I finally broke down and got it a couple days ago! Woot! I am very happy with this purchase. It makes a statement, which I like, and it starts to bring a bit of a style to my home and make it more "me."
Decorating a home is sure a task- I always think I know exactly what style I want and what direction I'm going in, until decision time comes, and I second-guess the heck out of myself! When it comes down to it, design for your home is what you make of it, and it just has to fit you and make you comfortable to come home to. In design I have found that my first choice was usually the best one, and paint- it can be re-painted! Haha ;) your arms might kill you though!
Here's a happy Sunday to you, and making wherever home is for you, just that much, well, homier! (if that's even a word!)

Roll With It

Week one of my "new job" has finally commenced. I made it through! This may sound funny, but I expected myself to do a lot worse emotionally. I expected and kind of felt like I was going to cry the first and second day, but I actually shed no tears this week!

Yay me!
I did shed tears today though...

A very close person I almost consider family, (who is very close to being family) is going through some tough personal issues, so painful it makes me feel it too, it can just be so internalized for me when it's family.

Seeing the hurt and pain in someone else's life also makes me appreciate my life more too. Although I do have my issues too, my fiancé is so supportive and always there for me and I appreciate that so much and feel very grateful!

So for now I'm just trying to make the best of whatever is meant for me right now. I might have had different plans in my mind, but for some reason I am where I am today for a purpose I don't know yet- but I'm going to roll with it.

I have lots going on in my life right now, but I think as things are getting added onto my plate, it's just making me stronger... Adapting to my new job is the big one right now, then there's planning my wedding/vacation and wedding reception and sending my dad a letter- just to name a few!

Right now this little guy is making me extremely happy...

A happy Sunday to you, I bid adieu...
